Clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and couple/family therapist with 25 years experience, trained to a high level in a range of therapeutic models, with full professional registrations in both the Netherlands and England. Apart from my clinical work I am a teacher, trainer and supervisor of other psychologists and psychotherapists, and have published professionally on trauma and depression.
In my approach I aim to be non-pathologizing, respectful and always completely confidential. When people experience difficulties in their lives, these often affect their relationships. In couple therapy we focus on communication patterns and familiar repetitive cycles, while in individual work we explore the relationship you have to yourself and the important others around you. Once patterns emerge into awareness it also becomes possible to change.
I work with a very wide range of issues, for instance marital difficulties and parenting, bereavement, anxiety, trauma, anger and work related stress. Therapy can be either short or long term, depending on what you want and the complexity of the issue.
The first consultation is an initial exploration of what made you consider therapy, and you will also be able to get an idea of whether I am the right person for you.
